Pericopae 6&7; contrasting responses; the people & a demonized man. (Overall Jesus' Authority displayed)
They went into Capernaum, and straight-
away in (Sabbath) synagogue he taught.
Authority in teaching quite elate-
ed folk, unlike the Doctors of the Law.
(To confrontation, then the tone was changed.
How would he handle shouting out and such?
For) straightaway a man who was deranged
with unclean spirit, cried out (very much):
"So what have you to do with all us who
are here, you Nazarene? Would you destroy?
I know that you're God's Holy One here too!
But Jesus cut him off (was he annoyed?):
"Shut up (the mouth), get out of him!" he said.
Convulsing him the unclean spirit cries,
comes out, and leaves the man. The folk then read
amazement, questions, in each other's eyes.
So, "What is this that's hap-pen-ing?" They asked.
"New teaching, with authority." They said.
"He orders unclean spirits, and - so fast
they must obey." And news went on ahead
& straightaway, throughout the Galilee
(, that district of the Jewish landscape, and
the Roman region in the North, where he
had lived, things "hotted up" throughout that land).
