Pericope 11 - Jesus' motivation & capacity in both cleansing, & interpreting the Torah: "touch no unclean thing*" etc.
There comes to him a leper, desperately
imploring him on knees (in dirt), saying
"If you are willing, you've capacity
to heal me (you could be my own way in
to life & health, community, again).”
So moved with strong compassion, stretching out
his hand to touch the man, he says to him:
“Oh, I am willing, now be clean.” About
then - straightaway- his leprosy got lost,
and he was clean (and free). And straightaway
when having sternly warned him (really bossed),
he said to him to see he didn't say
a thing to anyone, but go and show
yourself to priest, and make the offering
for cleansing, which is set down as the go,
by Moses, to bear witness to this thing.
But having gone out, he began to preach
a lot, and spread about the message so
that Jesus could not go (thus, nor could teach)
in towns with open access, only go
out to deserted places, yet folk came
out to him from all 'round about the place.
(So in one way they swapped, and that's a shame;
in other ways already that's his space.)
